Foothill Chinese School, which has long supported La Cañada Unified School District schools and the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation, this month gifted the foundation’s endowment fund with $40,000.

The donation, received Feb. 8 and announced by the LCF Educational Foundation last week, was presented by Foothill Chinese School outgoing board members, including co-founder and board President Hui Su, Jonathan H. Jiang, Wei Mi and Liping Fan.

“This donation is a token of our appreciation to the city of La Cañada Flintridge and its people, and to the La Cañada Unified School District for their support to the FCS in the past 12 years,” Su stated in a news release. “It also shows the continued commitment of the FCS to the broad foothill community for the sustained benefits of our children and families.”

Accepting the gift were Kevin Martin, current president of the LCF Educational Foundation, and Marilyn Yang, its executive director. Also attending the meeting were Linus Young and Benjamin Molina, incoming members of the Foothill Chinese School board, and the nonprofit school’s principals, Joe Rao and Mui Pang.
