Fohi All Class Reunion set for 2005

Alumni from Fontana High School have been working for more than a year on the first-ever Fohi All Class Reunion.

The event is being planned as a celebration of the first 50 graduating classes from 1955 to 2005.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Reunion Committee Member Ginny Mulloy, who was part of the very first graduating class in 1955. “It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but I think it will be well worth it.”

After months of meetings and hours of research work, committee members are struggling to find past Fohi graduates. So far, the group has only been able to make a relatively small dent in finding past alumni.

According to another reunion committee member, Judy O’Keefe, the most challenging part of organizing such a large reunion is locating people. The reunion committee has discovered that there is not one central place where there is a list of past grads or even a list of the various class reunion committee members.

O’Keefe knew it would be important to start early for the all-class reunion, even though the event is still more than a year away.

“It’s been a tremendous amount of work and we need people to contact us and spread the word about the event,” said O’Keefe, who pointed out that the reunion committee is especially interested in locating the people who have worked on past individual class reunions.

The organizers have been able to locate some committee members from each graduating class, but they encourage any persons who may have either worked on their class reunion committee or knows someone who worked on their class reunion committee to get in touch with the Fohi All Class Reunion Committee.

THE FOHI All Class Reunion has been set for June 25, 2005.

There will be an event during the daytime at Fontana High School, including a tour of the school. During the evening, there will be a dinner and dance reception at the National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernardino.

Above all, committee members are hoping the celebration will be fun and full of fond memories for all who attend.

“It’s going to be such a fun reunion event,” said Committee Member Ken Galasso, who graduated in 1971. “This event unifies families and friends across age groups. We’ll have parents and kids showing up to celebrate this event together.”
