Frederic H. Betke

Fred H. Betke was born on September 30, 1923, and died on his 80th birthday, 2003.

Fred was born in Bremerhaven, Germany and came to the United States at the age of 3 years. He grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. After college on the East Coast he became a tool and die maker by trade.

He entered the United States Army in 1944, serving a tour of duty with the 25th Infantry Division, attaining the rank of master sergeant.

Fred moved to California and was a successful plastics manufacturing business owner. The Betke family have been residents of La Cañada Flintridge for the past 35 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret, his son Fred, Jr., daughter Linda and two grandchildren, Jimi Bentley and Bridgette Bentley Hemsher.

Funeral services were held at Saint Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in La Cañada Flintridge with burial ceremony at the Riverside National Cemetery on Oct. 5, 2003.
