April 25, 1977-March 15, 2004

Trent William Brandon Nickell passed away March 14 in a San Diego hospital. He was 26 years old.

Born and raised in La Crescenta, Trent attended Monte Vista Elementary, Rosemont Junior High School and was a 1995 graduate of Crescenta Valley High School.

His mother, Jette Moller Nickell and father, Charles Nickell, were first-year graduates of Crescenta Valley High School.

Trent played years of A.Y.S.O. soccer, Little League baseball, Babe Ruth baseball, and Glendale Bears youth football. He also played volleyball for CVHS. After graduation he attended Del Mar Professional Golf Academy, where he was admired for his 300-plus yard drive.

Trent always had a smile for those he knew. Those he didn’t know usually got one as well.

Trent had spent two weeks being treated for a sleep disorder and depression in the San Diego hospital where he died. An autopsy indicated no obvious cause of death and still is pending.

He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away in February of this year, as well as by his maternal grandmother, Anny Moller, who passed away in the end of 2003.

He is survived by his mother, sister Kristine Nickell Poole, brother Brad Nickell, sister Brenda Nickell Cardinale and brother Troy Nickell; as well as by his adoring nieces and nephews, Marisa and Katelyn Poole of La Crescenta; Tyler, Cole and Brooke Cardinale of San Diego; and his paternal grandmother, Florene Gardner.

His siblings also attended Monte Vista, Rosemont and CVHS.

The family welcomes all who would like to attend a relaxed service at Flintridge Preparatory School, 4543 Crown Ave., La Cañada, on Saturday, March 27, at 7 p.m.
