The sun shone brilliantly on Spring Home Tour this year lending its warmth to the overwhelming success of the day! When all is said and done, we saw more than 1,250 patrons touring our five beautiful residences, and we served more than 500 guests at our Garden Luncheon. Combined with more and new vendors, amazing opportunity drawing baskets, wonderful flower donations and incredible generosity in our underwriting campaign, our proceeds are nearly double that of just a few short years ago.
It is especially exciting to make this report during a time when our schools are in a budget crunch and so desperately in need of additional funding.
The significance of all of this is truly that which is at the heart of this amazing community. All told, we had nearly 300 parents, kids, and community members willing to donate hours and hours of their time and talent, overwhelming support from our newspapers and school newsletters, and the amazing hospitality of our five homeowners who clearly had their houses looking unbelievably gorgeous for our event! We are especially grateful to the Brooks family who has, once again, not only handled all of our ticketing free of charge, but also designed and printed all of our beautiful Home Tour and Garden Luncheon tickets.
To each of you who purchased a ticket, volunteered for a shift, or made a contribution, I humbly thank you on behalf of the LCHS 7/8 PTA. Your continued participation in the Spring Home Tour not only maintains this much loved event as an annual tradition, but most importantly enriches the educational environment of the students enrolled today and in years to come. I give special thanks to my partner, Mary Ashford, whose organizational skills and ideas will be in play again next year when she serves as chairwoman of the 2005 Spring Tour.
