Students from Crestview Preparatory School in La Cañada recently donated used clothing, new paper products, and new underwear for the students at Jackson Elementary School in Altadena. Alison Carlson, a former teacher at Crestview who is now the reading specialist at Jackson, says the clothing will greatly benefit the “Head Start” program, which helps at risk children before and after school.
Also, on the last day of school, Crestview students donated leftover school supplies to the Jackson campus.
Jackson Elementary School is located less than five miles away from Crestview. There is a constant need for items like laundry detergent, clothing, and school supplies. For three years, Crestview Prep has donated many of these items and will continue to do so in the coming school year.
The Crestview Association Community Service chairs, Abby Lew and Jennifer Uteda, have done a tremendous job during the course of the school year, say school officials. There were three collection drives benefiting Jackson School, as well as a Team Crestview “Walk for The Cure” breast cancer walk and a blood donation drive over the past nine months.
