Bracelet Sales Aid Tsunami Victims

The Youth Organization for Tsunami Relief, composed of LCF’s Youth Chamber of Commerce and Youth Council and a number of La

Cañada High School clubs, and spearheaded by LCHS seniors Talene Ghazarian and Sophia Harris, has started selling blue bracelets at $4 apiece to benefit the victims of the Southeast Asia tsunami that hit the region on Dec. 26.

The bracelets are engraved with the words “Reach out” and are modeled after Lance Armstrong’s popular yellow “Live STRONG” bands.

“I think its a great way to unite the youth in La Cañada by having everyone express their support by buying and wearing the bands,” said Anushe Ashraff, a member of the Youth Chamber of Commerce. “It demonstrates how our community is reaching out and really trying to help the victims.”

Bracelets may be purchased from Harris and members of the Youth Chamber of Commerce, including Ashraff and Ghazarian, president of the organization. The bands also are being sold at La Cañada Books and Toys.
