Host Families Sought For International Students

Share

Intemational students attending Glendale Community College are seeking American families who would welcome them into their homes while they complete their education. A “family” may be a couple or a single individual, employed or retired.

International Student Placements (ISP) is a 12-year-old organization based in the bay area. The Home Hosts, provide a private bedroom, meals and lots of TLC. In exchange, the student reimburses them $700 per month for room and board.

During the year, ISP placed 40 GCC college students with American families. Locally, ISP is seeking more Home Hosts in the area. We have many more intemational students who want to attend Glendale Community College than homes for them to stay in, says Frances Sotcher, ISP area coordinator.

To find out more about the organization or about becoming a home host for a semester, call Sotcher at (310) 827-3618 or by email: Frances@ISPHomestgys.com. The Web site is www.ISPHomestays.com.
