Last week, the leadership in Congress promised $50 billion of added pork spending to House members for their votes to pass CAFTA, the Central American Free Trade Agreement, which most Americans are not familiar with, and of those who are, the overwhelming majority oppose.

The wheeling-dealing is described in this week’s taped message by Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) at 1-888-322-1414, and his essay “Sausage Factory” at www.house.-gov/paul under “Texas Straight Talk.”

CAFTA is part of the long range agenda of subordinating the U.S. to a world government. The NAFTA, WTO, CAFTA, and FTAA are stepping stones to first regional, then world government following the European Union model. It is being sold under the false promise of “increased prosperity” by multinational corporations, globalists and their shills in government. Their real goal is centralized political power under international bodies at the expense of U.S. sovereignty.

CAFTA caused the most intense fight over a trade bill since NAFTA was passed by a lame duck Congress against the will of the American people. Over the past dozen years, NAFTA has been responsible for the loss of millions of U.S. jobs and thousands of U.S. businesses to low-wage countries, and the imposition of foreign influence over American laws.

This is all a dress-rehearsal for the coming battle over the FTAA, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, which would subordinate the U.S. and all 34 nations of the western hemisphere, except Cuba, to one regional government.

The fierce battle and near defeat of CAFTA shows the momentum is shifting. Voters in the Republican primary next June will have the chance to show Rep. David Dreier, a principal backer of NAFTA, CAFTA and the FTAA, what they think of his attempt to nullify our Declaration of Independence.
