MaxPreps/CIF Sign Deal For Top Photo Coverage

The CIF and MaxPreps.com have signed a two-year sponsorship agreement in which the internet site becomes a contributing partner for CIF Section, Regional and State Championship events as well as an official licensee for action photography of CIF Championship playoffs.

The CIF and its 10 sections will benefit from this partnership, which will run from Aug. 1, 2005 to July 31, 2007, by being provided top quality action photographs of student-athletes for use in publications and web sites.

“The CIF is very excited to partner with MaxPreps and benefit from their position as an outstanding information source for numerous high school sports,” said John Tarman, CIF assistant executive director.

“MaxPreps is well established within our 10 sections and will continue to provide even more services to benefit our member schools, coaches and student-athletes.

CIF appreciates the commitment made by MaxPreps and looks forward to improving the quality of our service as a result of this partnership,” Tarman said.

MaxPreps has established itself as an internet sports media company.

It not only offers a free web site for schools and fans which includes a comprehensive sports database, including national, state and regional rankings for its ever-growing list of covered sports, but also makes available for purchase high-level action photographs of events from across the state.

“MaxPreps has covered high school sports in California for the past three years. During that time, we have enjoyed a great informal relationship with the CIF, athletic directors and coaches throughout California,” said Andy Beal, MaxPreps president and publisher.

“Now, with our partnership with CIF, we are ready to take our coverage of high school sports to an even higher level,” said Beal.

Established in 1914, the CIF is the statewide service organization that serves as the governing body for high school interscholastic athletics at its 1,366 member schools in California.
