Big Turnout Expected for Sunday’s Wine, Gourmet Tasting in Memorial Park

Memorial Park in La Cañada Flintridge will be the venue when the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada hosts its third annual Wine & Gourmet Food Tasting Event from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.

“Proceeds from this major fundraiser will serve children near and far,” said Diane Della Valle, publicity chairman for the Kiwanis Club. “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.”

Nearly 600 people are expected to attend this popular event, Della Valle said. Forty-five wineries will be pouring more than 100 different wines and there will be specialty foods provided by many restaurants and food purveyors from local as well as surrounding communities.

The silent auction, an x added feature this year, includes offerings of one week in a Hawaii condo and one week in a Yosemite house, meals in many fine restaurants, memberships to the YMCA and Descanso Gardens, fabulous services at local spas and salons, dance classes, automobile services, portraiture, classes in fitness (including the original Extreme Boot Camp) and self-defense; consultations on health, antiques, and more.

Wineries participating include Antelope Valley Winery, Cellarmasters, Cero Caliente Cellars, Don Sabastiani & Sons (Aquinas Winery and Smoking Loon Winery), Golden State Wine Co., Goudas & Vines, The Henry Wine Group, Le Petit Vendome Wine & Spirits (Flora Springs Wines, Napa Valley, Arini, Sicily, and Domaine Des Cassagnales), Maddelena Vinyard, Megawine Brave Stallion Vineyards, Pacific Wine & Spirits (Solaris Winery), Undiscovered Wines, Young’s Market Co.(Jacobs Creek), Young’s Estate Group (Hess Winery, Jekel Vineyards and Buehuer Vineyards), and many others.
