“‘Twas a long time ago, longer now than it seem
as, in a place that perhaps you’ve seen in your dreams.
For the story that you are about to be told began with the holiday worlds of old.”
The Nightmare Before Christmas, as the movie is named, is loved by many, and has enormous fame.
It’s the tale of a skeleton, Jack Skellington, in fact
in his world inhabited by monsters and bats.
Jack is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town,
but the pedantry of his holiday has got him down.
He walked, one time, through the woods far away,
through the night and then on the very next day,
Jack found a tree that was very odd.
He wondered “What’s This?”, and then with a nod,
he opened the door shaped like a Christmas tree. There was nothing inside there but suddenly he
was sucked in and went tumbling down. The next thing he knew, he was in Christmas Town.
This Christmas, Jack found, was really quite great.
He wanted to try it, he just couldn’t wait.
When he returned to Halloween town,
he called a meeting and they all gathered ‘round.
Jack explained Christmas, and what he planned to do.
They all would make the holiday, and improve it, too.
But when Halloween makes Christmas, there are a few flaws,
while Jack goes around playing “Sandy Claws.”
This year, once again, it’s at the El Capitan
go to see this; you must if you can.
“Frankenweenie” and “Vincent” are two short film treats.
So get there early to get the best seats.
And every night, in the twelve that it’s playing, you’ll get a different button, and it is worth paying
the nine dollars for shows before six,
and the two extra dollars for those after which.
In addition, next door, there is a soda fountain,
where you can get ice cream sundaes as big as a mountain.
This month, however, a special treat done.
The Nightmare Sundae is an incredible one.
The new monthly flavor is Pumpkin Pie,
and after you taste it, you’ll exclaim “oh my!”
It is so good, but a bit too much nutmeg.
Still the Nightmare Sundae, for it you’ll beg.
At the El Capitan Theater, in Hollywood C A,
from Oct. 20th to the 31st, not until May.
So hurry down to see “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
This is one event that you won’t want to miss.
