Gary Beban will be Honored by Scouts

The Vincent T. Lombardi Award will be presented by the San Gabriel Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America to Gary Beban, former UCLA quarterback and 1967 Heisman Trophy Award recipient, on Oct. 27 at The Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena. The event will begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m.

The award will be presented the San Gabriel Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America, and dinner chairman R. Todd Doney, vice chairman, CB Richard Ellis, Inc., and vice president, developmentm for the San Gabriel Valley Council.

The Vincent T. Lombardi Award is given to exceptional individuals who exemplify character development, good citizenship and sportsmanlike traits as promoted to the youth involved in the Scouting program.

The proceeds from the event will support After School Scouting and assist boys to attend summer camp. The San Gabriel Valley Council serves more than 36,000 young people annually throughout the valley and continues to be one of the fastest growing Scout councils in America.
