Troop Achieves ‘Dreams to Reality’ Award

La Cañada Cadette Girl Scout Troop 656 recently visited Van Nuys Airport to interview Stacy Sheard, a helicopter pilot for Helinet Aviation Services whose job is to transport sick children to and from Children’s Hospital.

Stacy began her flying career in the army and is one of very few women trained to fly Blackhawk helicopters. She shared her passion for flying and inspired the girls to consider a very unusual career.

Because of this visit, the scouts completed their Dreams to Reality Award, which encourages girls to explore careers. The girls will now begin work on their Silver Awards.
