Following are services and upcoming activities planned by the staff of the La Cañada Flintridge Public Library, located at 4545 N. Oakwood Avenue. Sue Renyer is the library manager. For information, call 790-3330.

Programs: La Cañada Flintridge Library will offer a series of free opera talks at 6:30 p.m. beginning in January. On Jan. 9, Arlene Stone will discuss Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” Future talks include a behind the scenes look at the world of opera, which may feature costumes, props or wigs on Feb. 6; a program on the comedy, “Le Nozze di Figaro” on March 6; a discussion of “Grendel” is set April 3; a look at “La Traviata” is planned May 1.

Watercolor artist Lana Blades displays paintings in the library’s Community Room, through Dec. 30.

Storytime: The Pajama Storytimes have resumed each Wednesday at 7 p.m. The entire family is invited for stories, songs, crafts and more. Pajamas and teddy bears are welcome.

Homebound Service: This service is for people 55 and older or physically handicapped adults who cannot get o the library on their own. Services include pick-up and delivery, directly from a customer’s residence, or library materials checked out, including books, paperbacks, large print items, audio books, musical compact discs and cassettes. Call Susan Hewitt at the reference desk for a delivery schedule.

Library Hours: Monday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, closed.
