The following crime reports for La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose and Glendale were taken from the log at the Glendale Police Department and provided by the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

Saturday, Dec. 17

Robert Lewis Chaplin, 42, of Baldwin Hills, was arrested on suspicion of possession of completed checks with intent to defraud, of possession of the personal information of others and of possession of methamphetamine after deputies noticed false registration tabs on a vehicle he was sitting inside in the Mill Creek Summit picnic area parking lot in Angeles National Forest.

Jaime Garcia Vargas, 43, of Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Ocean View Boulevard in La Crescenta.

A resident of the 2300 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose reported person(s) unknown destroyed three of her lawn Christmas decorations.

Thursday, Dec. 15

Michael Chauhtemoc Martin and Andrius Mikuekis, both 18 and residents of La Cañada, were arrested on suspicion of possession of false identification cards, and Mikuekis was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled narcotic substance after a traffic stop at Berkshire Avenue and the Foothill (210) Freeway in La Cañada.

A 47-year-old resident of the 2600 block of Lasheart Drive reported person(s) unknown entered her 2004 Saturn Ion and took her 21st Century Insurance card.

A 76-year-old resident of the 2200 block of Luana Lane in Montrose reported person(s) unknown attempted to gain entry into her house without permission by using a small key in the deadbolt.

A 77-year-old resident of the 2000 block of Rancho Canyada Road in La Cañada reported person(s) unknown stole $4,600 in jewelry from a dresser drawer in her bedroom.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

An employee of Ralphs in La Cañada reported an unidentified man stole two $150 digital video disc players, a bag of DVDs and an envelope containing a video surveillance tape at about 3 p.m.

A 53-year-old resident of the 4400 block of Chevy Chase Dr. in La Cañada reported unknown person(s) wrote checks from her bank account.

A 45-year-old resident of Robin Hill Road in La Cañada reported person(s) unknown made a purchase of more than $500 with her Citibank credit card without her authorization.

Person(s) unknown stole morphine, oxycontin and codeine pills from the pharmaceutical area of La Crescenta Pharmacy, located at 2764 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta, after breaking the glass front door.

An 83-year-old resident of the 2000 block of Rancho Canyada Road in La Cañada reported person(s) unknown attempted to gain entry into his home through the front bathroom window, rear bedroom window and rear closet window without permission.

Tuesday, Dec. 13

The owner of Señor Nachos, located at 2864 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta, reported person(s) unknown entered his business through the drive-through window and attempted to remove cash from the locked register.

Monday, Dec. 12

Person(s) unknown stole a purse containing a library card and pearl earrings and a makeup bag from a 2002 Saturn parked in the 700 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada.

Person(s) unknown stole $5,000 worth of jewelry from a house in the 800 block of Inverness Drive in La Cañada.

Person(s) unknown stole social security cards and a Sony laptop computer from of a house in the 2500 block of Baptiste Way in La Cañada.
