The Rebels, who fell to 7-2, participated in the tournament until last Friday, hosted Alhambra in a nonleague match at the Glendale Sports Complex on Tuesday and also hosted Kilpatrick at home yesterday (Wednesday). No results were available at press time.

The Rebels will host their annual alumni match tomorrow (Friday) at 2:30 p.m. and will not play again until Jan. 6 when they will travel to Monrovia for a 1 p.m. nonleague tussle.

The only goal of the Hoover match was scored by Jaime Gomez in the second half of play.

Earlier, Prep had been awarded a match on penalty kicks after it and Los Angeles Cathedral had played to a 0-0 tie in the tournament’s quarterfinals.

The Rebels converted four penalty kicks, by Justin Mowry, Gary Au, Brian Lee and Isaac Jabola-Carolus, while Cathedral was only successful on two kicks.

In the first round of the tournament on Dec. 13, Prep edged La Cañada, 2-1.

Prep had four shots on goal while La Cañada had nine.

The Rebels defeated Oaks Christian, 2-1, on Dec. 10 to win the Laguna Blanca High Tournament at Laguna Blanca High in Santa Barbara.

Jabola-Carolus scored the winning goal for Prep in the closing minutes of the match.
