Although the Flintridge Prep girls’ varsity basketball team scored nine points or less in any of its four quarters against Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy last Saturday, the Rebels still managed to win the nonleague contest, 30-21.

The Rebels upped their overall mark to 7-3. They traveled to Montclair Prep yesterday (Wednesday) for a nonleague contest, but results were not available at press time.

Prep will host its annual alumni game tomorrow (Friday) in the gym at 2:30 p.m. The Rebels will not play again until Jan. 6 when they will visit Rio Hondo Prep for a 4:30 p.m. Prep League contest.

In the Sacred Heart game, both teams scored eight points in the first quarter. However, the Rebels moved out to a 17-11 lead at the half and increased it to 25-17 after three quarters.

Alina Khodadian had a game-high 10 points. Laurel Myers and Chloe Wayne added six points each. Jordan Toyama and Christine Watson finished with three points apiece and Courtney Robinson had two points.

Myers led the team with a career-high 24 rebounds. Toyama added 14 rebounds and Wayne pulled down 10 rebounds.

In an earlier nonleague contest on Dec. 13, visiting South Pasadena edged Prep, 32-31.

Myers topped the Rebels with nine points and 11 rebounds. Teammate Toyama contributed eight points and seven steals.
