Prep Girls’ Varsity Soccer Defeated by FSHA, 3-1

The Flintridge Prep girls’ varsity soccer team was unable to overcome two second goals by Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy last Saturday and lost 3-1 in nonleague play.

The Rebels, who fell to 3-3-2, participated in the Holiday Area Festival on Monday and Tuesday and traveled to Alhambra yesterday (Wednesday) for a nonleague match, but no results were available at press time.

The Rebels will not play again until Jan. 10 when they will visit Pasadena Mayfield Senior High for a 2:30 p.m. Prep League match.

Sara Hollar scored the only goal for Prep against Sacred Heart on an unassisted play in the second half.

Prep goalie Ayana Sumiyasu made 13 saves. Sacred Heart had 28 shots on goal while the Rebels had three.

In an earlier nonleague contest last Friday, Prep shut out visiting Burbank, 2-0, at the Glendale Sports Complex.

Lauren Von Der Ahe scored one of the goals for Prep while Michelle Bigony, with an assist by Chardee Galan, scored the other goal.

Sumiyasu had 10 saves for Prep.

Visiting Monrovia edged the Rebels, 3-2, in nonleague action on Dec. 14 at the Glendale Sports Complex.

The Wildcats led 2-1 at the half as each team scored a single goal in the second half.

Bigony had two unassisted scores for Prep.

Prep goalie Charlotte Milinivich made 12 saves. Monrovia had 22 shots on goal while the Rebels had six.
