Concept Contest for 2007 LCF Rose Parade Float

Share

With “The Great Howldini” having completed its run representing this city in the 2006 Tournament of Roses Rose Parade, the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association is searching for a concept for its 2007 Rose Parade float. The contest is open to everyone.

Entries must be submitted by noon on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 to be eligible for the prize, which is two tickets for grandstand seats to watch the 2007 Rose Parade.

The exact parade theme will not be announced until mid-January. Following, however, is the information the LCF TRA has received relating to the theme, which may help generate some ideas. The theme incorporates ideas that the floats should be completely covered with natural materials and celebrates the good-natured enthusiasm of Tournament of Roses volunteers.

Concept ideas should be simple and easy to be quickly understood. Entries should be animated, with an element of surprise. They should be whimsical and humorous.

Contest entries should include a short written description along with a rough sketch. Entries must be on a separate sheet of 8-1/2” by 11” paper. Include your name, address and phone number on the back of the entry. Entries become the property of LCF TRA.

Contest entries may be dropped off at The Valley Sun at 1061 Valley Sun Lane or mailed to P.O Box 253, La Cañada Flintridge, Calif. 91012. For additional information call Bob Wallace at 248-4537.
