FSHA Varsity Soccer Blanks Bishop

The Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy varsity soccer team shut out La Puente Bishop Amat, 2-0, in nonleague play last Thursday.

The win improved the Tologs’ record to 11-2 overall. They traveled to Mission Hills Alemany to open the Mission League season yesterday (Wednesday), but no results were available at press time.

Sacred Heart will host Chaminade, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Louisville in 5 p.m. league contests at St. Francis tomorrow (Friday), next Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

The Tologs scored both of their goals in the second half against Bishop Amat. Linzee Luper hit the net twice with assists by Carter Bettese, Maddie Gonzalez and Pip Haragin.

Sacred Heart goalie Brianna Hodge made two saves. The Tologs had 18 shots on goal while Bishop Amat had four.

Apple Valley shut out Sacred Heart, 2-0, in San Gorgonio High Tournament pool play on Dec. 27.

Earlier that day, the Tologs shut out Colton, 1-0, in tournament pool play.
