Applicants Sought For Superintendent/ President at GCC

Glendale Community College is accepting applications for the college’s lead administrative position through Feb. 3.

John Davitt, the college’s superintendent and president, announced his retirement in the spring of 2004. He has held the position for 21 years and has been with employed with the college for 38 years.

A former resident of La Cañada Flintridge and member of St. Bede the Venerable Church, Davitt plans to retire June 30.

Qualified candidates for the chief executive officer position must have a master’s or professional degree from an accredited college, a minimum of five years senior managerial experience in a large organization, preferably a higher education institution. A doctorate from an accredited institution is preferred.
