Celtic Fun with Molly’s Revenge

Santa Cruz-based Molly’s Revenge, fresh off appearances at the Sebastopol, Live Oak and Grass Valley music festivals, are set for their first performance at The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena. They take the local stage at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2.

“We’ve never played at The Coffee Gallery before, and we’re excited to play at what sounds like a great venue,” said bouzouki player and singer Pete Haworth. Tickets are $15 at the door; call 626-398-7917 for reservations.

Molly’s Revenge, called “proficient and energetic” by Dirty Linen magazine, have made appearances at the Shanghai International Music Festival in China and gave toured Australia and Tasmania. Stateside, the band has performed throughout California, Oregon and Washington, as well as wowing audiences in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.

Expect a few pipe sets from award-winning David Brewer, some rollicking fiddle tunes from John Weed, excellent rhythmic interplay between guitarist/mandolin player Stu Mason and Pete Haworth. Irish dancer Bethany Duff rounds out the lineup.
