One of her favorite positions was being the room rep for three of her son’s classes.

Amazingly, she also owns her own company, Progressive Strategies, a management consulting firm that assists in organizational development, strategic planning and executive coaching and training for non-profits and for profit clients. She is the executive director of Whitecap Foundation, a non-profit that gives grants to support education and family development in the inner city. She serves on two environmental boards in La Cañada, is the chairperson for the Southern California Grantmakers Management Committee and has published articles on non-profit management and development.

She provides training, ideas and materials to the regular education teachers, helping them serve the needs of our students. He has worked for LCUSD for 15 years, at La Cañada High School and now at PCY. He takes great pride in his and job and goes above and beyond the call of duty. There is nothing he will not do and he looks for extra ways to keep PCY clean, safe and beautiful, even the Lost and Found room! He does extra work for the PTA when there is a special event, being flexible, patient and always with a smile. All members of the PCY family agree that the campus has never looked better that it does now with Javier taking care of it. Javier is well-loved by all students and teachers because he is such a cheerful, thoughtful member of the PCY staff. Paradise Canyon is truly blessed to have him!

When not taking care of the school, he is home with his wife Socorro. They have two daughters and recently became grandparents to a beautiful new granddaughter.
