LCJBSA Opening Day Considered a Success

La Canada Junior Baseball Softball Association held its Opening Day event last Sunday at La Canada High and the cold, rainy weather didn’t interfere with everyone having a good time.

Several players competed in the Golden Arm Contest and the Home Run Derby Contest while their fellow teammates cheered them on.

The division winners in the Golden Arm Contest will receive Juice It Up Smoothies for their entire team.

The winners were: Pixie: Katrine Madsen, Rookie: Megan Lacey ,Junior: Maddy Fisher, Senior: Laurie O’Leary, Super Senior: Anna Brenner, Shetland: Trevor Grey, Pinto: Matt Varrevato, Mustang 9: Jonny Brandt, Mustang 10: Grant Owen, Bronco: Joey Hanson and Babe Ruth: John Rodli.

Home Run Derby Contest winners each received a sport bag, compliments of Sport Chalet and four large Domino’s pizzas for their team.
