Comedian Ralph Harris at Ice House

Comedian and actor Ralph Harris is perhaps most recognized from his numerous television appearances, including his starring role in the ABC sitcom “On Our Own.” Harris was discovered by members of the ABC Casting and Development Department when they attended a comedians’ showcase and the rest, as they say, is network history.

His many television appearances have enabled him to highlight his talents, performing character comedy to a broader audience, thus following in the footsteps of his idols, Bill Cosby and Jonathan Winters. In addition to acting, Harris’s passion for performing stand-up comedy live remains close to his heart. In fact, he continues to perform in sold-out clubs across the country when not making television appearances.

Harris is working on the upcoming feature film “Dreamgirls,” starring Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles and Eddie Murphy. He has been featured on several television shows, including the critically acclaimed series “Seinfeld,” which he believes is responsible for getting his acting career rolling. In the episode, it is Harris’ pizza-guy character who helps the gang realize that Jerry’s accountant has been sniffing suspiciously because he’s allergic to the mohair sweater. Other credits include “Parenthood,” “Nick Freno,” “Living Single” and “In Living Color.” He has also had several appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” In addition, he has filmed his own comedy specials for Comedy Central and HBO.
