A call to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station helped deputies arrest four people last week on suspicion of grand theft of a vehicle, of possession of a loaded firearm and of identity theft.

“It’s another example of the community working with police,” Detective Sgt. Victor Ibarra said.

Deputies arrested Crystal Joy O’Connor, 22, of Palmdale; John Henry Cardenas, 40, of Bell Gardens; and Bryce K. Tubb, 33, and Shervan Armoogam, 38, both of Whittier, at about 4:30 a.m. March 28 in the 4500 block of Marvin Street in La Cañada Flintridge. They were attempting to break into a car when the resident called police, Ibarra said.

They arrested O’Connor on suspicion of grand theft of an automobile, of possession of a loaded firearm, of conspiracy, of identity theft and of possession of burglary tools; Tubb on suspicion of identity theft, of conspiracy and of violating the terms of his parole; Armoogam on suspicion of identity theft and of conspiracy; and Cardenas on suspicion of conspiracy, of possession of burglary tools and of violating the terms of his probation.

O’Connor is being held at Century Regional Detention Facility in lieu of $70,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in Pasadena Superior Court next Thursday morning. Cardenas is being held without bail by the California Department of Corrections. Tubb is being held without bail by the California Department of Corrections. Armoogam was released after posting 10 percent of his $20,000 bail.
