A secluded cove along the dramatic coastline of Pacific Grove, Calif. provided the scenic setting for the August 7, 2005 wedding of Tom Edward Traeger and Daphne Michelle Richer. As sea otters frolicked in the surf and waves crashed on the rocky shoreline, the bride and groom exchanged vows of enduring love before a small gathering of family and friends. The ceremony was followed by an intimate reception in the patio of the Forge in the Forest restaurant in Carmel, Calif.

The groom is the son of Solveig Traeger, resident of La Crescenta for many years, and the late Rudolph Traeger. Tom is a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School and the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received his bachelor of science degree in physical geography in 2000 and a master of education degree and single-subject teaching credential in earth science in 2001.

He has been teaching earth science and geology at La Cañada High School for five years, where he also advises aviation clubs for the high school and middle school.

The bride is the daughter of Rebecca Richer, of San Gabriel, and the late LeRoy Richer. Daphne is a graduate of San Marino High School and the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she received her bachelor of arts degree in biological sciences in 1998 and a master of education degree and single subject teaching credential in life science in 2001.

She has been teaching Biology and Integrated Science at Gabrielino High School in San Gabriel for five years and currently serves as Science Department Chair.

Tom and Daphne honeymooned along the California, Oregon and Washington coasts and now make their home in Monrovia.
