Memorial Weekend Events at Pomona Fairplex

Mission Circuit Dog Show — Fri., May 26 through May 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Returning for its annual Memorial Day weekend event, more than 145 breeds will compete for top dog over four days of trials and tests. The dogs and owners arrive from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico to be a part of one of the largest dog shows in the country. U.S.S. Highland Games/Scottish Festival — Sat., May 27and May 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Officially called the 74th United Scottish Society Highland Gathering and Festival, this lively event returns to Fairplex with music, dancing, piping, drumming, athletic games, Scottish merchandise and authentic foods. General admission is $18, ages 65+ $16, ages 5 to 12 $2. A whiskey tasting is scheduled at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex tonight, Friday, May ,26 at 7:30 p.m. There is an additional charge. All Breed Horse Sale — Sat., May 27 at 5 p.m. and Sun., May 28 at 11 a.m. Held in the horse show arena, the ponies and colts are offered during the Saturday sale at 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. Sunday begins at 11 a.m. Admission is free. Parking is at Gate 12 on White Ave. Information 445-3803.
