Proceeds from the dance performance will benefit the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance, which provides community-based HIV prevention and care in Malawi, Africa.
Lineage Dance, a professional dance company based in Pasadena, tours nationally each year raising money for charitable causes. The company has been highly successful not only in raising funds, but also in creating new dance audiences everywhere it goes.
Lineage presents a dance concert to benefit the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) at 7 p.m. at Polytechnic High School in Pasadena on June 3.
The proceeds from the dance concert will support such programs as strengthening rural village capacity, home-based care for people with AIDS and Orphan Care. In the Orphan Care program, care and support is provided to some of the hundreds of thousands of Malawi children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
Caregivers and guardians are equipped with food, clothing, school supplies and school fees for the children.
