St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in La Cañada Flintridge was the setting for the April 1 candlelight wedding that united local resident Nicole Beauclair and Nick Maroutsos of Los Angeles. Officiating at the ceremony were Father Kevin Kester of St. Bede and Father Jim Torrens, a relative of the bride’s.

Nicole is the daughter of Jack and Cathi Beauclair of La Cañada; the groom’s parents are Terry and Angelo Maroutsos of Ladera Ranch.

The bride appeared in an Italian silk ivory ball gown with an angled rouched waistband and off the shoulder French lace neckline, designed by L’ezu Atelier in Beverly Hills. She wore a double tiered cathedral length veil and carried an arrangement designed by the late Ray Hom that consisted of stephanotis, hydrangeas and roses. A family heirloom, a diamond cross that had been worn by her grandmother, mother and sister, completed the bride’s ensemble.

Serving her sister as matron of honor was Jennifer Doller. Bridesmaids included Courtney Bates, the bride’s sister-in-law Christina Beauclair, Aubri Bitterolf, Sara Larson, the groom’s sister Kiki Maroutsos, Karen Brereton and Shelly Wenker. They were attired in long silk, champagne-colored strapless gowns designed by Vera Wang and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas.

Flower girls were Claire Saydah and Jacqueline Chavos.

Daniel Almquist stood by the groom as best man. Ushers included the bride’s brother John Beauclair, her brother-in-law Mark Doller, the groom’s cousin Bill Marutsos, Matthew Mulcahy, George Theodorou, J.C. Timmons and John Tobias. Serving as ring bearers were Collin Saydah and John Theodore.

The bride’s mother was attired in an off the shoulder ball gown made of aqua silk, designed by Lourdes Chavez. The groom’s mother wore a beaded, taupe chiffon gown from Moni Ami in Costa Mesa.

The bride is a graduate of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy and Northern Arizona University. She was employed by Fidelity Investments in Los Angeles before earning a master’s degree in business administration from the USC Marshall School of Business.

The groom graduated from Santa Margarita High School in Orange County, and from UC San Diego, where he was captain of the basketball team. He worked for PIMCO in Newport Beach and Australia. He is presently attending the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.
