Some highlights include Eva Cabbell of Glendale who was awarded Beginner Student of the Year for 2006. She has been learning for only a few month and is very young, but she shows determination and skill beyond her age. Congratulations also go to her teacher, Nicoletta Aiken.

Monique Garrison of Glendale was awarded Student of the Year of 2006, while Cameron Takahashi of Burbank was the best performer of the day.

Paul Kellogg of La Crescenta and Jason Del Fierro of La Cañada Flintridge performed three piano solos each and were awarded for their progress. In addition, Kasia Zdarzyl and Jillian Nybakken performed. Zdarzyl performed a Tchaikovski piece.

More than 100 people from La Crescenta, La Cañada, Pasadena and Sunland-Tujunga attended the recital at the McGroarty Arts Center. The next recital will be in August. The school gives lessons in three La Crescenta locations, as well as locations in Tujunga, Glendale, Pasadena, Hollywood and Burbank.
