Actor Haley Joel Osment Injured in LCF Car Accident

Actor Haley Joel Osment, 18, allegedly lost control of his 1995 Saturn car and collided with a brick pillar that holds a mailbox on Flintridge Avenue just east of Chevy Chase Drive in La Cañada Flintridge.

According to Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station Sgt. Kristin Aloma, the accident happened around 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 20. After colliding with the pillar, the car hit some bushes then flipped over onto its roof and came to rest about 100 feet away from the pillar on Flintridge Avenue.

CV Sheriff’s Station deputies and Los Angeles Country Fire and ambulance responded to the accident.

Osment was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.

According to a hospital spokeswoman, Osment was admitted to the hospital at 1:30 a.m. with several cuts, a fractured right rib and a possible fracture of his right shoulder blade. He will be kept in the hospital overnight but is expected to make a complete recovery.

Osment graduated from Flintridge Preparatory School in June.

Aloma said the cause of the accident is not determined, and the investigation is ongoing. The results of a blood test, standard in injury-causing accidents, will not be available for 10 days, she added.
