My Bunny, Thumper

Thumper is more than just a bunny to me. He’s my best friend.

I got him when I was going into first grade. He was only 9 weeks old and weighed just two pounds. Thumper is a black and white Dutch rabbit. Now, at the age of 5, he is four pounds and still adorable and friendly.

Thumper lives in a hutch in our backyard. During the winter, Thumper sleeps in our bonus room, which is next to the garage. In the warmer seasons, he lives outside by some miniature trees. Every evening, he hops around our family room. Most people don’t know this, but bunnies can be potty-trained, so we put his litter box in the family room when he’s hopping.

One day, Thumper was hopping in the family room when I was at school. My sister accidentally left the door open and he hopped out into the backyard. My mom, sister, and neighbor searched everywhere but couldn’t find him! They were so worried. He had actually hopped back to his cage — waiting to get in!

Thumper is a very snuggly rabbit. He loves to cuddle 24/7. Every night, I read in bed to him and he sits by my side without moving.

It always seems like he’s listening to me! In fact, one day I was in my room and he came hopping all the way to find me because he knew I was supposed to read with him.

My bunny, Thumper Twitcher Roberts, is cuddly, kind and a good listener. He is very loyal and I love him very much.

Thumper is more than just a rabbit. He’s my best friend.
