The girls’ volleyball team at St. James the Less Catholic School has an enviable record so far this season.
The team has played six of its 10 scheduled games and is undefeated. The girls have ruled the volleyball court with their expert playing, great coaching, and amazing team spirit. Volleyball is played with the winner taking the best out of three and St. James has dominated every time by winning the first two.
The girls have defeated St. Bede’s, Holy Family, Incarnation, Our Lade of Lourdes and Holy Redeemer. St. James has not lost one game.
The St. James team is made up of seventh graders Taylor Casilio, Ruth Guziec, Desiree Terry and Shelby Tom and eighth graders Subi D’Aguiar, Andrea Garcia, Caeli Molina, Samantha Olivieri, Kathryn O’Sullivan, Ashley Orozco, Gabby Paredes and Chloe Tom with seventh grade alternate Helena Garcia.
They are coached by Erin O’Sullivan and Assistant Coach Colin Tom. Their last game against St. Bede on Oct. 5 was an exciting one as it featured amazing blocks by Kathryn O’Sullivan and great serves by Chloe and Shelby Tom.
They showed great teamwork on the court which lead them to a two-game victory. They hope to keep their winning streak strong by playing tough and always playing together as a team.
