Share

Back-to-back matinees of ‘Holiday Wonders,’ the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s signature yuletide family concert conducted by Music Director Grant Gershon will take place this Saturday. The show, geared for children and adults of all ages, abounds with festive carols and memory-making sing-alongs, making it one of the city’s most popular holiday traditions for children and adults of all ages. Santa Claus drops in for a special appearance and the magnificent Disney Hall organ comes alive under the masterful touch of organist William Beck. Adding extra holiday cheer is the Los Angeles Master Chorale Voices Within Children’s Chorus, comprised of Southland students who have participated in the Chorale’s “Voices Within” artist-in-residency program. The concert is sponsored by Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts. The Chorale will perform such holiday classics as Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Jingle Bells, Rudolph and Deck the Hall. Other works include Noel, Noel, Bells Are Ringing by Wilbur Chenowith; Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! arranged by Hawley Ades; De Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy by William Llewellyn; Sleigh Ride arranged by Michael Edwards; and Maringa Krismes arranged by Kitty Fadlu-Deen.
