Go ‘California Dreamin’” With La Cañada High School Music

Share

On Feb. 10, La Cañada High School will go “California Dreamin’” in an evening of music and classic California fun, designed to raise money for the LCHS Instrumental Music Department.

“California Dreamin’” is your exclusive chance to support LCHS’ award-winning band, color guard and orchestras. It will be the instrumental music department’s only fundraising event this year. In years past, the organization also hosted an annual carnival at the high school, which it will not do this year.

Get stoked for this eighth annual dinner show, organized by the LCHS Music Parents Association. Mark your calendars now and show your support by donating auction items, becoming a sponsor or placing an ad in the evening’s printed program.

“The school district is only able to provide minimal financial support to the instrumental music department,” said Dorit Zirler, LCHS parent and chair of “California Dreamin.’” “Much of the funds to cover the program’s costs, which include staff, music, uniforms, instruments and more, come from fundraising.”

“California Dreamin’” will be a music-filled evening, featuring performances by all of the instrumental music groups at LCHS. Other highlights include a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, a raffle and other surprises.

“Last year, a record number of music fans enjoyed the annual festivities, and we hope to exceed those numbers this year,” said Zirler.

In addition to attending “California Dreamin’,” there are many ways to contribute to the event and support La Cañada’s young musicians — underwriting and sponsorship, donations of auction items, ads and more. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The local businesses and community support is vital to the success of the La Cañada High School instrumental music groups and color guard.
