Nordstrom Hosts A Private Shopping Event

Members of the Junior League of Pasadena and friends enjoyed the hospitality of Nordstrom’s Glendale on Thursday, Feb. 22 for an invitation-only private shopping event. Over 300 guests enjoyed food, drinks and live music provided by Nordstrom Glendale as the store was closed to the public from 7 to 10 p.m.

With the theme, “Spring Fling... Fresh, Fabulous Fashion,” live “mannequins” greeted and, in some cases, surprised the guests as they arrived. Later, the models participated in a style show hosted by Nordstrom Regional Merchandisers from fashion jewelry, handbags and fashion accessories. The show featured spring fashion, trends and an accessories “A” list, the must have accessories for the season.

“Even with the rain, we had a fabulous turn-out for this fundraiser,” said Mary Serles of La Cañada, Event Co-Chair. “People were having make-overs in the cosmetics department, enjoying the fashion show and, of course, shopping for shoes!”

“Nordstrom’s has been a key partner of the Junior League of Pasadena for over ten years,” continued Fundraising Director Kathryn Martinez of Pasadena. “We are hugely appreciative of the contribution Nordstrom Glendale has made to our community efforts and hope that our relationship will continue for many more years to come. Store manager Gia Gluck and her entire team hosted an outstanding event for us!”

All ticket sales went to the community programs of the Junior League of Pasadena. In total, more than $12,000 was raised to support the JLP’s signature project, “Girls Rock!” consisting of programs for middle school girls and their families.

“We are fortunate to be able to devote 100% of our fundraising profits directly to our community projects,” explained JLP President Mara Lague. “We support our operating costs exclusively with membership dues and internal fundraising. Because our members actually participate in the community projects with their volunteer hours in a hands-on way, our fundraising dollars go even farther.”
