Pasadena Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles held its 60th Annual Meeting on Feb. 15 at the Valley Hunt Club in Pasadena. Guild President Jinny Dalbeck of La Cañada addressed the membership with an overview of guild’s accomplishments during the past year. She noted with pride the significant financial progress made by the Guild in fulfilling its current $3 million combination project in developmental biology and a suite in the Center for Newborn and Infant Critical Care in the New Hospital Building of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Dalbeck then presented a check to CHLA representatives Dr. David Warburton, principal investigator and director of the developmental biology program in the hospital’s Saban Research Institute; Bonnie McClure, chairman of the associates and affiliates and member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees; and Suzanne Lapis, director of CHLA Associates and Affiliates.

Seven new active guild members were welcomed at the annual meeting: JoJeanne Angeloff, Barbara Baptie, Michelle Liset, Ann Miller and Julie Withers of Pasadena and Avery Barth and Barbara Miller of San Marino. Four new associate members were also welcomed: Liz Gilfillan and Judy Reiling of Pasadena and Lucy Hilands and Lilah Strangeland and Diane Watson of San Marino.

Dalbeck, who just completed her first year as the Guild’s president, thanked her outgoing board members for their service, and then introduced the new board members for the coming year. The new executive committee members are Catherine Krell, first vice-president; Caren Cameron, second vice-president; Liz Kneier, corresponding secretary; Joannah Smith, recording secretary; and Nancy Twist, treasurer. A slide show followed, which featured highlights of the year.
