Girl Scouts to Host Pizza Night

The Girl Scout Mount Wilson Vista Council will host a Girl Scout Pizza Night on March 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Round Table Pizza in La Cañada. Sales’ proceeds from pizzas, sandwiches and/or salads will benefit the Montrose Program Center (Montrose Scout House).

Since the 1970s, the Montrose Program Center has been the location for many memorable events for Girl Scouts. Many Brownie troops use it for their first “camp out” experience. There is plenty of room for troops to have meetings and hold events such as spaghetti night, holiday caroling, valentine making and more. If the Girl Scout Mount Wilson Vista Council raises $250,000, the Weingart Foundation will give them $250,000 for the Montrose Program Center. The new deadline for this challenge grant has been extended to April 15.

For only $250 a business can purchase a stepping stone on the “Walk of Fame.” These stones will run from the Montrose Scout House’s building and travel out to the campfire ring. Each family, troop or business that purchases a stepping stone will be able to have an inscription engraved in the stone.

Other giving opportunities include an original art tile for $500, a picnic table or trail bench for $1,000 and major naming opportunities begin at $5,000.
