Vanessa Young Marries Ryan Burnett

Vanessa Young of La Cañada Flintridge and Ryan Burnett of La Cañada Flintridge were married this past summer in the courtyard at the beautiful Athenaeum in Pasadena. The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at the Athenaeum.
Vanessa, a 2001 graduate from La Cañada High School, is the daughter of Scott and Karen Young of La Cañada Flintridge. She is the granddaughter of Doris Young Coates, the late Robert Coates and the late Philip Young Sr. and James and Jeanne Wallace of La Cañada Flintridge.
Ryan, a 2000 graduate from La Cañada High School, is the son of Mike and Tish Burnett of La Cañada Flintridge. He is the grandson of Patricia Burnett and the late Frank E. Burnett of Burbank and Donald and Grace Brown of Duarte.
Monica Young, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Amy Burnett (sister of the groom), Cindy Burnett (sister of the groom), Victoria Young (cousin of the bride), Jackie Dray and Tracy Neumeier. They wore jade green silk dresses and carried baby calla lilies in vibrant colors.
Chris Walker, cousin of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen included Chad Walker (cousin of the groom), Danny Mayer, Chad Young, Phil Young (cousin of the bride) and Charlie Young (cousin of the bride).
Makenzie Bakly (cousin of the bride) was the flower girl and Warren Loth (cousin of the bride) was the ring bearer.
After graduating from LCHS, Vanessa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a minor degree in Business from USC. She was affiliated with the Delta Gamma sorority. She is working as an analyst for Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Los Angeles.
Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Point Loma Nazarene University. He was a cross country and track scholar athlete for four years. Ryan is currently a sales associate with CBRE in Universal City.
For the summer evening wedding the bride wore a full-length strapless satin gown with a taupe inset and French-bustled train. She carried long-stemmed white calla lilies.
Following the wedding ceremony was a dinner reception at the Athenaeum, where the guests celebrated with the bride and groom dancing to live music. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. They are currently living in Brentwood.
