Mountain Avenue’s Mack Follies Deemed A Success

Nearly 300 Mountain Avenue Elementary supporters sipped, supped and cut the rug while raising more than $32,000 for the school’s “Building for Our Future” program. Each year, Mountain Avenue’s foundation, Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids (MACK) holds a fundraiser that augments PTA and government support.
Christine Holmquist, event chair, said “We consider this event a success for our school. Funding the computer lab and librarian salaries and giving each teacher $10 per student to spend on classroom supplies are just a few of the ongoing commitments these funds will support.”
In addition to record-breaking parent donations, participation and support such as catering by Damon’s Steakhouse, event murals by Jacques Dupuy, performances by the MACK Daddies and grade level projects, the live and silent auction items helped the event’s fundraising and bidding wars were witnessed for items including:
Mountain Avenue celebrated its 40th birthday this year and monies raised at Parent’s Nite Out help support making the school optimum for students’ learning. Additionally a tile mural fundraising program has also been launched where tiles purchased by the Mountain Avenue community will be installed on school grounds.
