June marked an exciting time for the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation, as outgoing president Janna Gosselin passed the gavel to the leader of the organization for the 2007-2008 school year, incoming president Graham Stumpf.
At the final board meeting of the 2006-2007 school year, Gosselin ended her term, saying “I would like to thank our generous community for their support of LCFEF. I am so grateful to the community for, once again, making this our best year ever. Many thanks. I also want to thank the tireless LCFEF directors who worked so hard to help make our schools great. Our directors are terrific.”
Stumpf praised Gosselin for her efforts on behalf of the Foundation as well, saying, “Janna was a great leader for the foundation. She successfully spearheaded an outstanding year of fundraising while leading a talented group of board members. Janna was a dedicated leader and instituted many significant structural changes including the installation of an executive director to administer the day-to-day operations of the foundation.”
“Janna set a great example to follow and I will bring my enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to the foundation’s goal of helping the La Cañada Unified School District deliver a first-rate and dynamic education to our kids.”
Stumpf is married and has three children at Palm Crest Elementary. He has lived in La Cañada Flintridge for four years. He has been a youth soccer coach with AYSO and recently led Palm Crest Elementary’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Stumpf attended Northwestern University and supervises post production on feature films. Recent films have included “Amazing Grace,” “Nacho Libre,” and “The Motorcycle Diaries.”
Gosselin says the Foundation is fortunate to have Stumpf.
“I am delighted that LCFEF will have such a talented and committed leader in Graham Stumpf,” she said. “Graham is a strong, decisive community leader who cares deeply about the quality of our schools. I know that he will work hard to carry on LCFEF’s great works.”
So far, the Foundation is on track to beat last year’s record fundraising.
