The next luncheon meeting of the Glendale-Foothill Division of the California Retired Teachers’ Association will be held Oct. 1 at the Elks Lodge, 120 E. Colorado Street, Glendale. Social time is 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. All retired educators and administrators are welcomed.

The program will feature World War II veteran Charles N. “Norm” Stevens. He will speak on his experiences as a member of the 351st Bomb Group based in Polebrook, England.

Karen Whyte was recently installed as president of Las Candelas during a luncheon meeting in her La Cañada home. Presenting the gavel to Karen was the immediate past-president, Cathy Keen who has served as president for the last two years.

The Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors will celebrate its 100th anniversary at its Centennial Gala on Oct. 20, at Pasadena City Hall.

A cocktail reception launches the festivities at 6 p.m. with special guest Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard.

The evening will continue with dinner, a video tribute of the association’s history, and dancing to the live music of pop band “Impulse.”

Reservations are $150 per person and include valet parking, open bar, dinner, entertainment and dancing.
