The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station is asking for the public’s help in locating two women suspected of stealing a woman’s wallet from her purse and using her credit cards to charge up to $4,200 worth of merchandise.

According to Det. Rodger Burt, on June 17, a 75-year-old woman had her wallet stolen from her purse while she was shopping at the Ralphs Market at 512 Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada.

Burt said that this type of crime typically happens when one suspect distracts the victim, while another steals the purse or wallet.

In this case the woman’s credit cards were used later that day at a Target in San Dimas by two females described as African American, dressed in white T-shirts, one wearing white pants the other a plaid skirt. They were seen driving in the Target parking lot in a GMC Envoy or Yukon, possibly 2000-2006, silver or gold with a sunroof, roof rack and after-market rims.

Any information on the two suspects contact Det. Rodger Burt at the C. V. Sheriff’s Station at (818) 248-9491.
