Public invited to water symposium

The public is invited to attend a water symposium that will address current water supply challenges, what Foothill Municipal Water District is doing in response, provide conservation tips and answer questions from the public.

The symposium will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 27 at the FMWD offices, 4536 Hampton Road, La Cañada Flintridge.

Three years of drought and water supply constrictions in Northern California’s Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to protect endangered species have resulted in supply water supply cutbacks to the Foothill area.

Two Memorial Day services in area

In addition to the 9 a.m. Memorial Service on Monday, May 25 at La Cañada’s Memorial Park (see the Fiesta Days special section for more details), there will also be a similar service at 8 a.m. Monday in Two Strike Park in La Crescenta that is expected to last about 30 minutes.

La Cañada businessman Sonny Sardo is the guest speaker at the La Crescenta ceremony, which is sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1614 and American Legion Post 288.

Early deadlines for May 28 Valley Sun
