Soap box racers will test the limits of their cars in the Annual Greater Los Angeles All-American Soap Box Derby races this Saturday at 10 a.m. on Michigan Hill.
The VIP races will feature local officials, such as Mayor Laura Olhasso, La Cañadans of the Year Meredith and Tom Reynolds and La Cañada Community Center President-elect Joel Smith.
“Challenge races” will also be available for children, and final sign-ups and car inspections for that will be at St. Francis in the parking garage at 5 p.m. Entry fee is $45.
“They'll need to bring there cars and their birth certificates,” said organizer Mary Gant. “Any applicants who wish to participate must be 8-17, 8 years old by August.”
The races will start at 10 a.m. and run until 5 p.m.
