Parent Education Program has class openings

Classes are still available for fall in the Parent Education Program at La Canñada Presbyterian Church. The weekly classes offer parenting advice from experienced teachers and support from other parents. Parenting topics range from school and health issues to relationships and discipline. In its 30 years, the program has served thousands of families throughout the San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys.

There are parent-only classes and classes for parents (or grandparents) and babies and young children. Each class includes discussion time, and for classes with children, play time and story and song time is included.

The program runs from September to June, with fall classes beginning the week of Sept. 21. Classes meet on the campus of La Cañada Presbyterian Church, 626 Foothill Blvd., La Canada. A new children’s play area is expected to be completed when classes start.

Childcare will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays; check with the Parent Education office for more information.

Due to popular demand, a second class for parents of teens has been added on Wednesdays from 12:15-2 p.m. Space is limited in some classes.
