CVWD workshop open to residents

The Board of Directors of the Crescenta Valley Water District, which serves households living in a portion of the west side of La Cañada Flintridge, will be holding a public workshop to discuss the proposed 2009-10 budgets for water and wastewater operations at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the district office, 2700 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta.

Ceramics sale to be held at Center

The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge’s Ceramics and Salsa Sale/Buffet is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, at 4469 Chevy Chase Drive, La Cañada.

Cost is $10 for a ceramic bowl, made by students or instructors at the center, filled with salsa created by center instructors, and a copy of the various salsa recipes. Chips also will be provided. Proceeds will be split between the students and the ceramics department, to help pay for shelves and other items that need replacement.

Chamber mixer is tonight at park

The La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce’s June Mixer is tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 at Memorial Park, 1301 Foothill Blvd. The event is hosted by the La Cañada Valley Sun and will feature a traditional picnic menu and beverages provided by DISH restaurant, with desserts by Gourmet a-go-go. Music provided by The Wright Stuff Jazz Band. Cost is $8 for chamber members and $12 for guests.
