Nancy Katherine Dutton and Stephen Paul Walker were married on July 25 at the University of Glasgow Scotland.

The bride, daughter of La Cañada residents Richard and Pauline Dutton, attended local schools from the Child Educational Center and Palm Crest Elementary through La Cañada High School where she graduated in 2001.

She studied voice with Anthony Lupica of La Cañada and continues to perform with a Scottish choral group. In 2005 she received her bachelor of science degree in linguistics from Harvard, followed by a master’s degree in Celtic studies from the University of Glasgow in 2007. She is working at KPMG in Edinburgh in the company’s chartered accountancy program.

The groom, son of William and Barbara Walker, of Lenzie, Scotland, also graduated from Harvard in 2005, where he majored in mathematics. He is working in Glasgow for Royal London Mutual Insurance as an actuary.

After a honeymoon in Switzerland the couple will return to their residence in Lenzie, Scotland.

Bridesmaids included 2001 La Cañada High School graduates Kristina Gupta (with husband Daniel Castro), Daiva Mattis, and Sheden Tavikoli. La Cañada resident Edita Mattis, mother of Davia Mattis, also attended.

Nine attending Harvard classmates of the couple included Julia Martin, maid of honor; Chris Smallwood, Jackie Roberts, Quang Tran, Tumi Makgetla, Hana Habayeb, Vaness Harison, Vanessa Ouellette and soloist Maggie Harrison.

The flower girl, Birgitta Walker, and the ring bearer, Aidan Walker, are children of the groom’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Walker. The Rev. Shelley Marsh of Bishop Briggs St. James the Less Episcopal Church, the church home of the couple, presided at the ceremony.

The reception was held in Butte Hall of the University and featured an old-fashioned Scottish caleigh, similar to American square dancing, in which all ages participated.
